AmFund Announces Call for Applications for

New Funding Opportunities to Support Nonprofits

MAITLAND, Fla. (October 20, 2020) – The American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) is once again opening applications for unrestricted funding beginning Tuesday, October 27, 2020 to support nonprofit organizations throughout the nation. Organizations can submit a simple application online at www.AmFund.org/giving. This is a first step to qualify for a Golden Pear Grant or for other funding opportunities provided by AmFund.

AmFund’s President and Co-Founder, Wade West expressed concern for the services provided by nonprofits, “We all realize this pandemic created incredible challenges for nonprofits. Not only are donations down, but people, animals, the arts, and many worthy causes need support now more than ever. Without the nonprofits we support, seniors, children and veterans would not receive lifesaving medical care, injured and abandoned animals would roam the streets, food banks would not feed the hungry and other intolerable problems would remain unsolved.”

Earlier this year, AmFund expanded its support to nonprofit organizations through relevant educational programs, increased funding opportunities, and the introduction of its Golden Pear Grants. Twenty-one worthy organizations received grants in August ranging in amounts from $1,000 to $10,000 and other organizations have received over $650,000 this year in unrestricted donations from AmFund as a result of its signature virtual and hybrid events.

“We recognize the continued need of nonprofit organizations to fill funding gaps as a result of the pandemic and the shifts in planned events. Our summer expansion of support was very well received, and we are proud to be able to once again offer another open door opportunity for worthy organizations to fund their cause,” said Deborah Marshall, Chief Operating Officer of the American Fundraising Foundation. “We encourage organizations to apply before December 1, 2020 as a first step toward consideration for funding this year and into 2021.”

The American Fundraising Foundation, a GuideStar Platinum rated 501(c)3 nonprofit, has donated over 36 million dollars to other service-providing nonprofits over the course of the past 20 years.

About the American Fundraising Foundation

Each year, the American Fundraising Foundation (AmFund) carefully chooses organizations to support through sponsorship of events, year-end grant distribution of financial support, virtual silent auctions, and other programs to raise much-needed unrestricted funds for the important mission of those organizations.

AmFund is recognized with the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency and since 1999 has donated more than $36 million for worthy causes. Its signature silent auctions featuring once-in-a-lifetime experiences are presented at organizations’ special events, whether in person, virtual or hybrid events, drawing admiration, praise and excitement as the entire process elevates the event in the eyes of patrons, board members and the community.

Leveraging more than two decades of fundraising experience, AmFund also provides expert educational support and training on a wide variety of topics and offers subject matter expertise through its Speaker’s Bureau for groups ranging in size from 12 to 500. Additionally, AmFund annually distributes unrestricted grants known as their Golden Pear Awards, to select organizations.

The Golden Pear, prominently part of AmFund’s new logo, is deeply rooted in history as well as in its mission. Throughout history, even before the written word, the pear has been honored as a sacred fruit signifying wisdom, prosperity, good health, longevity and future happiness – all the things Amfund seeks for its nonprofit partners.
